#sewphotohop Day 5 - knowledge hub - I usually Google/insta /pinterest a pattern before I make it. I refer to books for techniques/alterations etc & keep notes on what I've done in my note book. Lots of indie companies also put together great tutorials for FBA's & other common adjustments you might need when you follow their 'sewalongs', these are great for when you have a similar pattern too! I've also been on a couple of pattern drafting courses which were great for cementing knowledge I'd built up (I'd definitely recommend this if your local to Hinckley 👉@thesewingcafeuk @sianrileystudio) 🤓✂️📏✏️ #sewinggeek #alwayslearning @houseofpinheiro @mariadenmarksewing

#tbt to my recent pattern cutting class at @mac_birmingham and this amazing skirt (complete with pink pockets!) by @healthygazelle . Repost from @healthygazelle on Instagram: Another skirt!!!! Had a great time with @sianrileystudio's pattern cuttting class! Learnt a lot and felt a bit more confident sewing than before! Skirt fabric is denim from @guthrieghani and I used pink fabric for my pockets and a hot pink invisible zip.
