Me Made May: Day 31 - The Final Day - My Eco Sewing and Pattern Cutting Themed Tote Bags

My eco tote bags were created in collaborations with Bag it Don't Bin It using fair trade and sustainable processes and resources.

I wanted the best carry all for my making equipment, and they are now available to buy on my shop page.

Thanks to SozoBlog for issuing this Me-Made challenge - i didn't realise how much i'd made until I actually went through my wardrobe :)

Me Made May: Day 30 - Work in Progress No.3

A triple layered top in black polycotton and polychiffon fabric.
Another commercial pattern was used as inspiration but the shape has been shortened, with no sleeves and merged with my custom block pattern instead. Saves millions of alterations this way!
Should be good for this warm weather (when i'm finished!)

Me Made May: Day 29 - Self-Drafted Shorts

Its been hot today hasn't it?!
These self-drafted shorts are a must in this hot weather in a grey polycotton.
They were originally taken from a favourite pair from Next, but i wanted to make some changes to the pockets and seams.
The same pattern is also going to be cut in a navy and black cotton very soon.

Me Made May: Day 28 - Refashion Project 4.0

This jersey knit jumper i've had forever but the original had a high-low front hem that looked weird on me, so a pleated blue fabric panel was added at the bottom to make it more wearable.

Yay for another pieces saved from landfill!

Me Made May: Day 27 - Sleeveless Shell Top

The top is from the shell top pattern from the Great British Sewing Bee.
Made with another fabric remnant - this one from my BA Fashion collection all those years ago.
Its nice to see the fabric being used for something else that I can use.

Me Made May: Day 26 - Illustrated Scarf

A good accessory to keep warm on these cold May days.
Another pieces made for a photoshoot that i get to use myself

Me Made May: Day 25 - Self-Drafted Vest Top 5.0

Yet another variation on a theme in printed cotton fabric from Un Peu de Ci, Un Peu de Ca in Granville in France.

Completed with self-made bias binding strip (to hide a seam!) and pleats to use the small fabric lengths wisely.

Me Made May: Day 24 - Self-Drafted Coat 2.0

This is the very first piece of outerwear i custom made for myself.
Took a lot of toiles but its always important to get the fit right.
Measure twice, cut once and all that! ;)

Me Made May: Day 23 - Work in Progress No.2

Butterick patterns B5988 being constructed as we speak in a blue viscose fabric - although the bias binding is driving me insane!

It should look good when its finished though.

Me Made May: Day 22 - Pattern Cloned Jumper

Made from a Jersey Rib Knit from Pound Fabrics.

A copy of one of my fave pieces from FCUK in a light grey with cross-grain panels.

This helps to keep me warm on days that should be warmer for this time of year 😊

Me Made May: Day 21 - Jersey Coatigan

A pop of colour for this piece from Simplicity Patterns.

A good layering piece this one, and my stripe matching is amazing! 😁😉

Me Made May: Day 20 - Refashion Project 3.0

In honour of the GBSB reduce reuse recycle episode last night, here is another refashion shirt sewing project.

I do love the back buttonstand detail on this one though, and its in a nice light cotton fabric - ready for the sun.

Me Made May: Day 19 - Work in Progress No.1

A New Look Patterns 6376 in the work using more of my fabric stash; a printed polyester from Birmingham Rag Market.

I've used an ivory crepe remnant for the under layer, but had to get a bit creative with the layout as i only had 3/4 of a metre. (*Will share more photos soon!)

This will be lovely for the warmer weather...when it arrives!

Me Made May: Day 18 - Refashion Project 2.0

Another refashion sewing project

This top belonged to a friend who didn't wear it anymore. As they were a size smaller than me, i added some relaxed chiffon fabric panels into the side seams to make it a more comfortable fit.

Another piece that didn't end up in landfill.

Me Made May: Day 17 - Self Drafted Raincoat

Its rained all day so this coat is a must wear today.

Belted at the waist and complete with inverted pleats, its a bit more interesting than the average rain mac ;)

Me Made May: Day 16 - Handsewn Toys

Not a wearable piece, but something a little different for sewing Sunday.

One of the mini mascots that i made during my kids classes at MAC Birmingham, but i do like making these as gifts for friends.

You can make your own using the free instructions on my Learn to Sew page.

Me Made May: Day 15 - Self Drafted Vest Top 4.0

Another self-drafted vest; this one with a racerback, in vintage stripe cotton from Clothhouse.

This was a fabric remnant from a 2nd year project at university which i've always loved. Its great to use the rest of it up to avoid any waste :)

Me Made May: Day 14 - Self Drafted Vest top 3.0

Another vest top, but this time with a printed pleat detail.

A spot of colour on the grid today...a rare one for me, but i've had this fabric remnant since university, and didn't want to waste it, so an impromptu decoration was added.
