Pattern Draft-A Jacket or Coat Course-The Final Day

It was a great final day on my Pattern Drafting Course-A Jacket or Coat at the Sewing Cafe.

It took some time to get the fit right but the patterns were all altered and ready to go. Its important with outerwear to ensure the fit is accurate. It can be quite difficult to alter when made in final fabric, which can be quite expensive for coats...so the less alterations once its made the better!

The fabrics for both coats were a lovely wool-mix; one in a dark grey, the other in a purple tone polka dot. The purple polka dot had the inverse colour on the other side, which as the jacket is not being lined, gave a nice detail to the inside. Contrast colour fabric was also added in for the invisible pockets too which also make a nice touch.

Take a look at the finished coats below.

This was the last course for 2018. I look forward to sharing the new 2019 classes with you soon!
