Tailored Coat: and so it begins!

I wanted to create a slightly different style coat to the previous ones i've made, which meant a full toile process. Its always a good idea to test the coat shape before applying to final fabric...remember, measure twice, cut once and all that!

So...take 2! The full bust adjustment seems to have worked but now a few things don't align properly and the collar needs changing! Aahhh!!! Needed to alter a few of the key pieces to re-test the collar sections, which in take 3, seemed to work :) The zip is now better integrated as it wasn't fastening properly and is now included within a seam.

Ok, happy now...time to create facing and lining patterns.

New Tailored Coat Project

Sadly, my custom semi-tailored coat has completely given up (not bad for something that i made over 8 years ago!), so i've now taken on the mammoth task to pattern draft a new one. However, this journey hasn't started well as the first toile now needs a full bust adjustment!!! Oh well...on to toile No. 2!
