It was a great day at the Sewing Cafe today teaching my two pattern alteration classes.
First up this morning was full and small bust adjustments, and dart manipulation. Bust adjustments are sometimes considered to be one of the hardest adjustments to make to a pattern. But I promise they're not scary at all! I explained the methods step by step and everyone was able to copy these in 1/4 scale, including a 1/4 scale example of their own adjustment that they can replicate full size at home.
In the afternoon, part 2 of my pattern adjustment course focused on sway back adjustments, and lengthening and shortening. There are a number of ways this can be done but it depends on the fit of the garment and the chosen fabric.
To learn any of these methods at my pattern alteration classes, go to the Sewing Cafe's website to check new course dates.
