This morning its been all about the fabric!
A few adjustments but the garments are progressing well. Very excited for the finished pieces!

Whilst the 1950s dress (and all its intricacies) has been serialised here and on social media, quietly in the background, i've also been making another vintage dress from the 1960s.
This one was nowhere near the same amount of trouble, and was a dream to put together.
Made from a navy stripe stretch crepe from Josiah Amari in Camden, and navy fabric remnant binding from the leftover fabric from another top.
Day one has been spent doing the necessary adjustments to commercial patterns; a mixture of bust adjustments, grading, lengthening, shortening and moving of darts...not much at all! 😁
The fabric has been prepped and cut in readiness for next weeks session, and i'm loving the colour and prints of the fabrics chosen.
See you next Saturday!
Its finished! Yay! Just in time for my Make A Vintage Style Dress at MAC Birmingham tomorrow.
I've made quite a few changes from the existing commercial pattern 😉 (blame the inner pattern cutter!) but the skirt twirls beautifully.
The fabric from Pound Fabrics works really well and drapes wonderfully.
See you tomorrow!
