I'm with Dior on this one...he hates things looking like they're dressed in a sack and it 'helps to emphasise the loveliness of yourself'. This definition is probably the most accurate so far!

For maker monday this week, I've been darning and mending a jumper as i can't bear to throw it away! Too damaging for the environment. To help, I've been following this make do and mend book from 1943 (re-published by the V&A) for the perfect stitch.

For Remembrance Sunday, i wanted to throwback to sculptor Jackie Lantelli 'ghostlike' installation in the grounds of the Slimbridge Church in Gloucestershire to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.
A poignant and beautiful series of figures that represent the 11 fallen soldiers from the village.

I wanted to share the gift i made for a close friend who has recently had a baby.
I had some fabric remnants left over from previous baby blankets that i had made and wanted to make something special for her newborn daughter.
Everything for this pillow has been recycled and reused from previous makes, including the stuffing, so its as eco-friendly as possible.
Also, the fabric i used was a mixture of super soft fleeces and jerseys; gentle on babies skin, very soft and most importantly, will go through the washing machine easily!
